Holter Monitoring

At Ozone hospitals, the Holter Monitoring procedure is done with advanced technology outside the clinical or lab setting. This test is a kind of portable electrocardiogram ( ECG ), where it records the electrical activities of a patient's heart continuously over 24 hours or 48 hours and the ECG recorded during this time is subsequently analysed for any cardiac arrhythmias that might have occurred.

The procedure is done to :

1. evaluate chest pain that cannot be produced with the exercise testing method.
2. evaluate other signs and symptoms that may be heart-related, such as tiredness, shortness of breath, dizziness, or fainting.
3. identify irregular heartbeats or palpitations.
4. determine how well a patient's pacemaker is working.
5. assess risk for future heart-related events and issues.
